Looking back at CRM 2011, we have all seen the under-utilised “Getting Started Pane” which was designed to provide contextual help based on the module you were currently working with in CRM. This has been greatly simplified into a tutorial when you log in to CRM 2013 to help users get started with the improved user interface and new features. I strongly recommend watching the tutorial before you attempt to work with CRM 2013, so you can understand how to navigate to various areas of the application.
Navigate by Role
Clicking on Let’s go takes you to the Navigate by role tutorial which illustrates how to navigate to specific functional areas using the new navigation bar.
Access info quickly
The next page of the tutorial shows what happens when you work with the different functional areas. For example, clicking on SALES on the navigation bar displays common entities that sales representatives will be working with.
Pick up where you left off
Like CRM 2011, it is simple to navigate to the records that you have been working with recently. This screen shows how to view and open the most recent Opportunity records.
Get a complete view
Create things fast
This is a great new feature of CRM 2013 and allows you to quickly create records from anywhere within the application using the “quick create” control
The final screen provides links on how to import data, and install and configure Dynamics CRM 2013. It also provides resources for common administrative tasks and links general users to the Microsoft Customer Center.
