In my previous blog post I have described how can we create Opportunities in Dynamics CRM 2011 and how can we add products to an Opportunity. In this blog post I will describe how to create Quote in Dynamics CRM 2011 and how to add existing products from an Opportunity to a Quote.

To generate a Quote from an existing Opportunity, open the Opportunity and Click in the Quote section, it will change the ribbon menu. Click on Add New Quote button on the ribbon menu.

A Quote window will be open and some of the fields will be automatically filled with details from the existing line items of Opportunity. Click on Save & Close.

When a Quote is created it automatically generates the Quote ID using the auto-numbering. When we first create a Quote it is in Draft status we can activate it by clicking on Activate quote button in the ribbon menu. A quote can be revised many times and we can track it with the help of Revision ID.

By default the details in the Address section is blank. To add address to a Quote you can click on Look Up Address button on the Ribbon menu or you can manually enter it.
